The Story

For everything he has given to and done for his family over the year, Tonya wanted a song for her husband to make him cry happy tears and feel loved.

My husband's name is Scott. We met in Las Vegas in 2002, where I was born and raised. He is from New Mexico. He is a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier, a Ranger, and an officer. When we met, he was a first lieutenant. He is now a lieutenant colonel.

We moved to Ft. Bragg, NC in 2004 and married in 2005. Our son Ethan was born on September 2005 and our daughter Emma in 2008. Scott supported me while I went to nurse practitioner school at UNC-Chapel Hill. He deployed several times while we were in NC.

He loves us fiercely and would do anything to protect his family. He is a good man and a good person. He is honorable and patriotic. He is the best husband and father I could have hoped for. He is the man that I hope our son will grow to become, and I hope that our daughter meets a man just like her dad someday. We look forward to many adventures as a family!

My husband LOVED his song! I cried when I first listened to it. Scott is a Special Forces Green Beret officer and I have seen him cry only once in the 15 years we have been together. The first time was when he deployed after our son was born. This song got him teary-eyed. The singer/songwriter was fantastic and really caught the essence of our love story. We've been listening to it over and over. Please pass along our thanks to the artist who wrote and performed this song. We couldn't love it more!
